I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather this past weekend. It sure was nice to see the sun! As we slowly, but quickly get into April, I would like to highlight a few activities.
I hope you have a great week!

It is amazing how things can get away from you. I apologize for not communicating sooner, but we returned from break and the week was over! I wanted to pass on a few things to highlight on your return from spring break.
Who would think that we'd be enjoying mid 60-70s in February! I hope everyone had a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather! We have a busy, but short school week this week so here are some highlights of the week ahead.
Have a great week! I hope everyone had a great weekend! It is hard to not think of spring when it's so nice out! We have a busy week ahead with sports, activities, and parent meetings, just in case you need a reminder:-)
I am sorry I missed my post last week. It is amazing how quickly things can take off when a week starts! I can't believe that we are getting ready to turn the page on January! Time really does fly! As we look ahead to Feburary we look at a busy month of planning for next year in regards to course selection and parnt nights to learn about the transitions ahead. Here is a list of those dates and times.
Here are the dates to put on your calendar if you have child going into 9th grade:
If you are a parent of a child going into 8th grade, here is important dates for you. During the next few weeks, we will be starting the registration process for 8th grade! Mr. Johnson will be meeting with students during their Science classes. Each student will receive a GREEN registration form, as well as an Advance Classes letter attached. Please take time to discuss course options that are appropriate for your student. Below are the dates when Mr. Johnson will be meeting with each team:
Well, this is one way to start a week! I hope you all are able to stay safe and not travel while the ice is playing games with the road conditions. Tomorrow, Tuesday January 17th, is the start of our second semester. Here are few reminders to help you and your student get started on the right foot.
Thanks for a great first semester! Have a great week! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a good start to their week. I am sure you are all aware we have come upon the last week of first semester! This is an exciting and anxiety filled time, as our students are wrapping up their semester. It is also crunch time for their grades. If your child is missing any work, please encourage them to make a final contact with their teacher to tie up any loose ends.
As we look to second semester, some students will be changing electives or block. We will be handing out new schedules for each student during Tiger Time. It could also mean a change in lunch times, so it might not hurt to review schedules before school on Tuesday. A couple of dates I want to remind you about:
Dear Stilwell Families,
Happy New Year! I hope this finds you and your children well rested and ready to return back to school. We are excited to finish our 1st semester and begin the 2nd half of our school year on January 13. Here are some dates to highlight in the month of January.
We hope you had a great break and start to your 2017! We are excited to see your children and have them back in our halls and classrooms! Have a great week!
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind this weather sticking around all winter long! I hope you had a chance to get out and enjoy the wonderful weather! I apologize for not updating my blog last week! I would like to give a shout out to the cast and crew of Beauty and the Beast! Mr. Hunt and his cast and crew put on a fantastic show! I am truly in awe of all the talent that was on stage last weekend. I would also like to thank all the staff that helped with costumes, marketing, set, and support in making this play a HUGE success! The play just kicks off our performing arts schedule for the Holiday Season.
I hope you were able to hear our 7th grade, 8th grade, and Jazz bands perform this past Tuesday. They were fantastic! It was a great night with a wide range of different styles of pieces performed. Well done Mr. Lewis, Mr. Turner, and students! I want to thank Dr. Remy for visiting with our PAC last week. She answered questions parents had about our district. The topics discussed were: board work around building efficiency, Spanish immersion, and New Tech transition into the high school. It was good conversation about the future of WDMCS. Our next PAC meeting will be January 17 at noon. This will be my last post until after Thanksgiving. Remember that next week we only have school on Monday and Tuesday. I hope you all have safe travels and get to enjoy family and friends over break!! My final thought is in reflection of last week' s elections. I've been careful in 18 years in education to focus very little on politics and more on my service role of guiding students to be active, positive and caring citizens and encouraging them to go on to add value within our community, country and world. October 17-21 was our "Profriend Week", I feel it is worth reinforcing the message with staff, students, parents, our community and myself: if we all make a pledge to make kindness a focus for each of us every week, we could make an amazing IMPACT in our world. Kindness start within and can spread to all. I hope that you have a great week! |
